Fall in Love With Your Business

Five ways to fall in love with your business

If you are going to feel fulfilled, if you actually love your business and love what it is that you do in your business, your results are going to be that much more amazing.

Your energy is going to be on fire, your excitement for the clients that come in and are already in is going to be exciting and just lit up.

It’s easy to feel the opposite; not hate but frustration or burnout or that there’s too much to do and you don’t really get anywhere.

Today let’s focus on five ways to fall in love with your business, whether you’re just starting out or whether it’s again.

Take yourself back to the reason why you started the business in the first place.

What was the reason that you went into business for yourself? If you’re an executive or a leader within a company you could think about what the reason was for taking the job that you have or for choosing the company that you did.

This is where inspiration comes from, this is the thing that actually keeps us going especially when challenges show up and they’re going to show up. We need them to show up. It’s what keeps us growing.

Use your calendar as your asset not a to do list.

What does that mean? When you’re in control of your calendar it’s not just a list of what other people want you to do.

It’s the actual things or activities you want to spend your time on and make sure that includes things you love to do — because sometimes you’re going to have to do things in your business that you don’t really want to do or they’re just not going to light you up.

You need to make sure that your calendar includes things that you love to do and there’s an opportunity there for you to hand over things to people that love to do what you don’t. It’s a fabulous opportunity for everyone.

Take regular breaks from your business.

Absence really does make the heart grow fonder… Sometimes all you need is some rest and relaxation to feel rejuvenated and in love with your business or with your role.

As entrepreneurs and business executives, you spend long hours working. Even if it is doing something you love, that can still take its toll on you physically, mentally, and emotionally. And, it can make you resent or lose interest in your business. Spending some time away from your business can help rekindle your love for it.

Have a vision for your business.

For where it’s going, what you want to create, what you want to accomplish and who you want to work with. For example, who your clients are and how that might grow and expand.

If you think big in the vision for your company, if you think big enough to where you get excited about it, maybe even a little nervous, it could just be the very thing that makes the business or the work juicy and even more exciting.

Focus on the future while still enjoying today.

So much of your role as business owners or executives is planning for the future, which is very important. It’s also important to realize that the actual reward is in the doing. If you are always focused on the end result instead of the journey to get there, you will miss out on so many wonderful moments and experiences within your business.

I hope you will take some time to focus on one or more of these suggestions for falling in love with your business.
