3 Essential Elements to Creating Balance

Balance and Work-Life Balance are certainly buzz words these days and have been for a long time. Here’s why… If you look at all of the different areas of your life, personal, family, work, they are all separate pieces, yet they are connected. They flow into each other, and decisions made in one area affect the others. Therefore, they all play a significant role in the success you experience in your personal lives and in your business/career.

Too many people try to take the idea of balance literally and think if only you do this, things will be easier, or if only you do this, things will be smoother, if you do that you will be happier.

Work-life balance is something a lot of people strive to achieve. Yet the problem is that balance is not something you find. A key point is that balance is something you create on a continuous basis. I like to picture it as a continuum or journey rather than arriving at a destination. You make deliberate choices, view the results, and make adjustments on a regular basis.

A continuum is looking at a whole, whether it is a sequence or progression or even a journey of values, elements, or even experiences. A crucial property of a continuum is its connectedness, which supports the idea that all of the areas of your life are connected and interwoven with one another. It also means that there is no end, there is always a new way to look at these areas and to make any adjustments.

There are 3 Key Elements You Need For Creating Balance.

But first, Before I get to them, I want to point out why creating balance is important. So many business owners and executives, even high performers in general, pour their heart and soul into their work and compromise some of their other priorities in the process, often without even knowing it. Work can take over very quickly, but there are some things you can do about all of that.

The benefits of creating more balance in your life are many, including:

  • To have more freedom, more of what you want in life

  • To be purposeful in your choices

  • To give you more control and power in your life

  • To propel you forward to the next level

  • To have more time and energy

  • To improve your relationships and your health

  • To help you get the results you want

  • To increase your focus and your productivity

  • To earn make more money

  • To advance in your career, into upper-level positions

The 3 Key Elements You Need For Creating Balance:

One. Set up a routine. And stick to it. Having certain tasks you do at a certain time every day develops trust, discipline, and good habits. A routine helps you and others know what to expect, it builds confidence and discipline. All critical aspects of running a business, a home, or excelling in your career and getting the results you want.

Two. Look at the big picture. Look at your activities, choices, and results in larger pieces; say on a weekly basis rather than a daily basis. This will give you a more accurate picture as well as one that is more motivating. Sometimes you just want immediate results, however, the universe doesn’t always work that way. Sometimes progress is difficult to see on a daily basis, so look at a weekly timetable or longer periods of time, to see your progress in much more detail and bigger strides.

Three. Remember that change can take time. Like dropping a pebble in the lake causes ripple effects, change can take time. Implementing, tweaking, and making adjustments need to happen continuously over time. This does not mean that you won’t see results immediately, you most definitely will. Yet, sometimes to see the results of those changes or to feel the effects of them will happen over time.

These three elements will get you on your way to where you want to be, the results you want and the experiences you wish to have. To your success!!
